Our Contact Lens Fitting Process

We take a step-by-step approach to help you find the right lenses:

Doctor evaluation: We assess your vision, corneal shape, and tear film to determine suitable lens options.
Trial lens selection: We fit and test lenses based on your prescription and eye structure.
Insertion and removal training: If you are new to contact lenses, we guide you through proper handling techniques.
Follow-up assessment: We check fit, comfort, and vision quality after one to two weeks of wear.

What Is a Contact Lens Exam?

A comprehensive or regular eye exam evaluates your vision and eye health, but doesn’t provide a contact lens prescription. Unlike an eyeglass prescription, a contact lens must be fitted to your eye’s curvature and designed to compensate for any irregularities affecting your vision.

Contact lens exams include multiple assessments to help us measure your eyes and determine what contact lens type may benefit you.

We evaluate whether your eye health can tolerate standard contact lenses or if you require a specialized contact lens to protect your eye health and provide accurate vision correction.

Dry Eye and Contact Lens Wear

Dry eye can affect how comfortable your contact lenses feel. If your eyes feel irritated or dry, or if their clarity fluctuates throughout the day, the lens type and wear schedule may need to be adjusted.

We evaluate your tear film and lens fit together to find options that reduce friction and support stable, comfortable vision. In some cases, specialty lenses such as scleral designs may help improve comfort for patients with dry eye symptoms.
